Filter images by size before you download them
Short answer
Set a minimum width and height in the extension's filters before downloading. A floor of around 800×600 removes icons, avatars, spacer GIFs and tracking pixels, and usually leaves exactly the photos you were after.
Doing it by hand
Without filters the options are: save everything and sort it out in the file manager, or inspect each image's dimensions first and save the ones that qualify.
Where that falls apart
- A typical page carries dozens of tiny images — logos, UI sprites, avatars, 1×1 tracking pixels — that outnumber the real content.
- Displayed size is not file size: an image shown at 200px wide can be a 3000px original, and vice versa.
- Sorting hundreds of files by hand afterwards costs more time than the download saved.

Open the image list for the current tab. Each entry shows its real dimensions, not the size it happens to be displayed at.
Step 2
Set a minimum width and height
800×600 is a good starting point for photography and product shots; 1200 wide for print-quality material; drop to 400 when you also want in-article illustrations.
Step 3
Sort by resolution
Sorting largest-first puts the best copies at the top, which makes it obvious where to stop selecting.
Step 4
Select and download
Select all of what's left after filtering, or invert the selection to drop a few, then download the rest in one go.
